Crete | Kandanos Village

Kandanos is an attractive mountain villagenestling among the sharp crags of western Crete.

Many Cretans take refuge there in thesummer to avoid the heat in the towns, and it has built itself a reputation as a cooland leafy refuge.

The route from Chania to Kandanos is longand tortuous — about 60 kilometres of mountain road that requires care to navigate.

Alternately, from the Chania bus stations you can take a KTEL rural bus that will do the trip insomething over an hour.

Either way, Kandanos gives you a condensedCretan country experience.
